Avez-vous déjà entendu parler du Comité Scientifique Européen pour la Sécurité des Consommateurs ? Parfums Par Nature vous en dit plus sur ce comité.

Composé de 17 membres qui sont essentiellement des experts en chimie et toxicologie, ce comité scientifique émet des avis sur les risques en matière de santé et de sécurité des produits de consommation non alimentaires comme les cosmétiques, ainsi que des services aux consommateurs. Le CSSC publie des avis sur les risques chimiques, biologiques mais aussi mécaniques et autres risques physiques.

À la suite d’une demande spécifique de la Commission européenne, le CSSC étudie une substance grâce à des articles scientifiques, des données toxicologiques, des études de marchés et produisent un avis sur cette substance. Toutefois, ces scientifiques peuvent également publier des déclarations sur des sujets particuliers de leur propre initiative.

C’est à peu près 20 substances qui sont évaluées chaque année par ce comité et qui peuvent donner suite à une réglementation. En effet, à l'issue du processus d'évaluation des risques, le comité adopte des avis (ou opinions) sur ces substances qui deviennent la base des futures réglementations européennes. Toutefois, même si ces avis sont très suivis, ils ne donnent pas forcément tous lieu à une réglementation.

Lorsqu’un ingrédient est classifié comme dangereux pour le consommateur, son utilisation dans les cosmétiques devient alors interdite ou très limité et règlementé. Par exemple, la concentration de l’ingrédient dans la composition du produit ne devra pas excéder un certain pourcentage.

Une fois qu’une nouvelle réglementation est établie et un ingrédient devenu interdit ou limité, les marques disposent d’un lapse de temps pour reformuler leurs produits avant qu’ils ne soient retirer du marché.

C’est d’ailleurs actuellement le cas pour le lilial. Souvent utilisé dans les parfums pour son odeur de muguet et florale, il a été classifié CRM et est dorénavant interdit dans la composition des parfums et cosmétiques. Au 1er mars 2022, plus aucun produit sur le marché ne sera autorisé à en comporter pour le bien être et la santé des consommateurs.

Composed of 17 members who are mainly experts in chemistry and toxicology, this scientific committee publishes opinions on the health and safety risks of non-food consumer products such as cosmetics, as well as consumer services. The SCCS gives opinions on chemical, biological, mechanical and other physical risks.

Following a specific request from the European Commission, the SCCS studies a substance through scientific articles, toxicological data, market studies and produces an opinion on that substance. However, these scientists may also publish statements on particular topics on their own initiative.

Approximately 20 substances are evaluated each year by this committee and may result in a regulation. Indeed, at the end of the risk assessment process, the committee adopts opinions on these substances which become the basis for future European regulations. However, although these opinions are widely followed, not all of them necessarily lead to regulation.

When an ingredient is classified as dangerous for the consumer, its use in cosmetics becomes prohibited or very limited and regulated. For example, the concentration of the ingredient in the composition of the product should not exceed a certain percentage.

Once a new regulation is established and an ingredient is banned or restricted, brands have a period of time to reformulate their products before they are removed from the market.

This is currently the case for lilial. Often used in perfumes for its lily of the valley and floral scent, it has been classified as a CRM and is now banned in the composition of perfumes and cosmetics. On 1 March 2022, no product on the market will be allowed to contain it for the health and well-being of consumers.

La couleur est protégée et ravivée, alors que les cheveux regagnent en volume et en brillance. Formulé sans sulfates. L’Embellisseur répare et nourrit les cheveux sans les alourdir. A compléter avec son masque spécifiquement développé pour les cheveux colorés. Le Masque Soin Embellisseur s’utilise après la coloration végétale pour fixer et intensifier les pigments. For two years now, the Fragrance Foundation has been interested in the naturalness but also in the sustainable commitments of the projects submitted wih the very emblematic RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION AWARD.

All the big in perfumery industry were there and the Acorelle's team was very happy to have been chosen among all these prestigious candidates.
